Tl dr The later X games just weren't on my radar, everyone was focused on/talking about other games at the time. None of my friends had one growing up, and I went straight from PS1 to Dreamcast. It wasn't until I had a modded OG Xbox in the mid/late-2000s that I could conveniently explore the PS1's back catalogue - and wasn't until 6 months a go that I ever played Saturn. Legends? Sure (never played it though) but not X4. I don't remember anyone talking about MegaMan/X by the time PS1 rolled around. Mega Man X4: 80 240 (450 Sealed) Though it is the Blue Bomber’s second addition to the ‘X’ series on the Saturn (the first being Mega Man X3 which was not released in North America), Mega Man X4 was the first in the series for the 32-bit generation. Metal Gear Solid, Syphon Filter, I'm mostly remembering 3D games that were getting all the attention around that time. I also got really into Tekken when my brother borrowed 3 from a friend. It wasn't until '99 that I upgraded my SNES to a PS1, by then I was super into wrestling. ![]() I did rent Mega Man Soccer a couple times. Given how much I liked the original X1 (and MM6), I assume I would've sought it out if I knew about it. In fact, I got the original Mega Man X for my birthday and loved it! But I didn't know about the sequels until after the fact.
